Monterey Guest House
This Guest House project was for a client who loves entertaining and needed a 2 bed 2.5 bath guest house added to their main property. Beautiful mountain views surround property. Custom-colored Spanish tiles added accents throughout the patios and stair risers and hard wood floors from Board House add to the rustic charm. Special touches included the hand-painted island in the kitchen as well as painting all the outlets in the kitchen to match the granite.
The clients gave us carte blanche to choose colors and furnishings. Nonetheless, set costs were in place and we delivered the project under budget.

About the Monterey Guest House Project
Hand-carved wood beams and custom, wide plank floors add a Spanish feel to this room. Greens and lavenders were used to play off the green vista views and tons of sage that’s planted outside. Ethnic geometric prints from Pindler & Pindler were used on the ottoman and sofa pillows. Sofas were custom from Burton James and chandelier was from Hacienda Lights. Curtains were custom fabric from Romo. Fun Fact: the TV is hidden behind the antique mirror frame over the fireplace.
The chairs from Kravet have leather seats with a chevron-patterned fabric on backs. The table is from Teracea. Antique sconces were a special find in Los Angeles. You can see a glimpse of the kitchen island with a grey tone pattern.
Orange Guest Room:
Flat weave orange rug and orange accent bed pillows add color to this warm beige and cream guest room. The iron bed from Artifacts and tables from Teracea have a Spanish flair. Fabrics were chosen from Jacque Bouvet and Anna French. Sepia-toned photographs over the bed are from Kenneth Gregg.
Green Guest Room:
The custom headboard from Duralee Furniture and Kravet fabric bed skirts and accent pillows make a great ethnic bold statement in this room. Area rug is wool with diamond pattern and is from Stark Carpets. The bedside lamps are from Layla Grace. The custom TV armoire was made in San Miguel de Allende. All linen bedding is from Restoration Hardware.

Such a great project with clients who were supportive of all our design details and a builder who was a pleasure to work with! We all kept the project on the timeline and on budget — two very important aspects to the clients. The result is a guesthouse that most guests don’t want to leave!
